South Shore Art Center Update re: COVID-19
South Shore Art Center continues to closely monitor the evolving outbreak of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), keeping you – our community of artists, audiences, students, staff and faculty – as our highest priority. Following the guidance provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), we are taking the following steps:
• We have increased the frequency of custodial services, and the level of cleaning provided.
• We are disinfecting studio work surfaces after every class.
• We have placed hand soap and cleaning products throughout our facility.
• We encourage all staff, artists, and participants to take the standard precautions advised by the
CDC, including:
o frequent and thorough handwashing.
o covering coughs and sneezes and proper disposal of tissues.
o avoiding contact with people who are sick.
o avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth.
o staying home when sick.
o observing a two-week quarantine for those who have traveled to (or are hosting anyone who
traveled to) areas identified by the State Department and/or the CDC as significantly impacted
by COVID-19.
• We have posted signs regarding proper hygiene practices and CDC precautions in all studios and restrooms.
South Shore Art Center will make decisions regarding class/event cancelations or postponements on a weekly basis as we continue to assess this situation. Updates will be posted on our website and social media channels.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call South Shore Art Center at 781-383-2787. We wish you good health and hope to see you at SSAC.
