About this Organization:

South Shore Art Center is a regional art center located south of Boston with two spacious galleries and two satellite galleries where up to 20 exhibitions are presented each year. Classes and workshops are held for more than 1,500 students, of which one-third are children, in two teaching studios. More than 2,000 children from schools across the South Shore visit the Art Center annually, meeting with artists, creating their own work of art, and touring the galleries.  A three-day outdoor arts festival generally has more than one-hundred vendors and attracts more than 10,000 visitors on Father's Day weekend.  Our "living gallery" of 175 artists represents an esteemed collection of artists recognized locally, nationally, and globally.

MISSION STATEMENT

South Shore Art Center enriches the communities south of Boston by engaging artists and by fostering an understanding and appreciation of the visual arts through education and exhibitions.
